Arsenal and Leicester City are both interested in moves to sign Valencia winger Ferran Torres this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the two Premier League clubs have joined Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid in the race to sign the 19-year-old from Valencia this summer.
According to the same story, the winger has been attracting “admiring glances” from some of Europe’s top clubs following his solid performances for Valencia this season.
Torres was in decent form for Valencia this season, scoring two goals and making one assist in 24 La Liga games, although he was limited to just eight starts in the Spanish top flight.
According to the same report, Torres could be signed for around £25m if a future sell-on clause is included in the deal.
However, it is underlined in the same article that Arsenal have only a limited transfer budget this summer due to their failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The Gunners reached the Europa League final but ended up losing 4-1 to Chelsea FC in Baku as they missed out on their final chance to seal a Champions League spot.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table in Unai Emery’s first campaign in charge at The Emirates.
