Arsenal have joined Tottenham and Juventus in the race to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by Calciomercato, is reporting that the Gunners are considering a move to sign the 20-year-old this summer as they look to add to their squad.
The attacking midfielder scored four goals and made two assists in 27 Serie A games for Roma last season and the Italian has been linked with a move away from the club.
According to the same story, Tottenham Hotspur are thought to have been in the race to sign Zaniolo for “some time” but their north London rivals Arsenal have now also entered the fray.
Juventus have also been credited with an interest in the attacking midfielder, according to the same story.
However, it is also claimed in the article that the player himself does not have his heart set on a move away from AS Roma, although he would be interested in an improved contract.
Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Unai Emery prepares for his second season in charge at the club.
The north London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last term.
