Arsenal given Mesut Ozil exit option as Fenerbahce ‘open talks’ over loan

Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal career has hit the rocks in a major way this season but his situation has take a twist after it emerged that Fenerbahce have opened talks over a loan deal.

The playmaker has played sporadically since he and Sead Kolasinac were victims in a car jacking incident earlier this year.

Ozil has seen just 71 minutes of Premier League action, with boss Emery preferring to pick Dani Ceballos and Joe Willock.

A lack of intensity shown in training and his reluctance to track back and work hard for the team appear to be at the root of the issue.

But it appears the 30-year-old has now been offered a lifeline by his former club Fenerbahce.

According to Turkish outlet Takvim, the Turkish giants want to take Ozil on loan in the new year.

The Daily Mirror report that Ozil believes there is no way back for him at Arsenal and a parting of the ways is the best scenario.

Despite the World Cup winner having been named as one of five captains in a dressing room vote, the Gunners want to move him on.

The percentage of Ozil’s enormous £350,000-per-week wages that Fenerbahce would be prepared to pay remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Arsenal hero Ray Parlour said the emergence of so many talented youngsters has led to the former Real Madrid star being frozen out.

“I have been really impressed by the youngsters coming through, from Arsenal’s point of view,” Parlour told talkSPORT.

“Ozil’s not even in the squad now. I think that’s probably the end of his career at Arsenal.

“You have got youngsters that deserve an opportunity probably more than him at the moment.

“Saka, Martinelli, Ceballos – we have so many options.”

Arsenal face back-to-back home matches with Vitoria in the Europa League and Crystal Palace in the Premier League after the international break concludes.
