The Gunners are looking to improve their squad this summer.
Unai Emery’s first season ended with disappointment after losing the Europa League final to Chelsea.
And the north London side finished fifth in the Premier League, meaning they miss out on Champions League football.
This has seen the club linked with stars such as Yannick Carrasco.
The latest star to be linked with a move is Chalov, according to Sky Sports News.
Enjoying a breakthrough season at CSKA Moscow, the Russian has scored 17 goals and made seven assists this year.
And the forward has even notched two international appearances this year.
His goals helped the Russian side to a Europa League group stage place next season.
Chalov’s strike comes as:
And footage has emerged of the youngster showing his skills on the last day of the season.
In the clip, CSKA Moscow are leading Krylya Sovetov 4-0 with 20 minutes to go.
Chalov is on the last defender’s shoulder in the penalty box.
And he runs onto a ball played by Mario Fernandes.
Anticipating the pass, the 21-year-old leaves his defender rooted to the ground.
There is only goalkeeper Yevgeni Konyukhov in the way – but he is at a tight angle to the goal.
This is not a problem for Chalov, though, who chips the ball over the keeper and into the back of the net.
The Russian youngster wheels away in celebration with his team-mates, who win the game 6-0 last month.
This footage was shared today on Twitter, where it has been viewed nearly 40,000 times.
But the Gunners faithful were left unimpressed by the 21-year-old.
“Even I’ve scored one like this,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “He screams Everton.”
While a third compared him to a former Arsenal star.
“Remember Arshavin,” they said.
The Russian spent five seasons in north London but only scored 31 goals.
“No thanks,” a fourth simply added.
It comes as the Gunners are set to have a double bid accepted.
