Arsenal fans bombarded Thomas Partey’s Instagram channel after the midfielder’s impressive first 90 minutes.
The Gunners got their Europa League campaign off to a winning start as they saw off Rapid Vienna 2-1.
After conceding through a Bernd Leno error, David Luiz levelled the game on 70 minutes before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struck the winner four minutes later.
But the headlines were stolen by Partey, who played his first full game for the north London side since arriving from Atletico Madrid.
And the stats show he put in a strong performance for Mikel Arteta on the continent.
The Ghanaian showed off his defensive abilities with five tackles, 10 duels won and an interception on his tally.
While Partey also got the attack going for his side, making 100 per-cent dribbles completed and a 90.2 per-cent pass accuracy as well as 80 per-cent long ball passes completed.
After the game, the 27-year-old shared two snaps of himself in full flow on Instagram as well as the team photo before kick-off.
Accompanying the pictures on Instagram, he simply wrote “good feelings” with a high five emoji.
And the Gunners faithful responded by heaping praise on the new midfielder in the comments.
“You were outstanding,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “Superb today – a complete midfielder.”
While a third sent a message to Partey, with: “Classy performance – more of the same on Sunday.”
And a fourth added: “Great performance Thomas! Looking forward to seeing many more of these.”
Ghanaian team-mate and former Sunderland forward Asamoah Gyan also got involved, posting muscle and flame emojis.
With a sixth fan simply saying: “Finally we have a proper mind.”
It comes as Arteta has confirmed that the Ghanaian will continue to have a major role in Arsenal’s plans.
He said: “He looked really solid, really comfortable,” said the manager in his post-match press conference.
“He held midfield by himself in the second half when we were a little bit more open and starting to take more chances attacking certain places with some players.
“He was fantastic tonight and there’s much more to come from him.”
