Arsenal considering loan deal: Unai Emery blocked player’s exit in January

Nketiah started just three times for Arsenal last season and is desperate for regular playing time.

The 20-year-old has impressed when called upon but he finds himself behind Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the pecking order.

A number of clubs are interested in taking him on loan next term, including Championship outfits Charlton and Bristol City.

And according to Football London, Emery could sanction a move to allow Nketiah to develop.

Augsburg are also keen to snap him up.

The German side were interested in January but Emery blocked the move as Arsenal lacked cover.

But the Spaniard may change his stance to avoid Nketiah’s progress stagnating.

The transfer revelation comes amid news that:

“Emery could sanction a move to allow Nketiah to develop.”

However, Nketiah’s future will depend on Arsenal’s transfer business this summer.

The Gunners are in need of a third-choice striker following Danny Welbeck’s release.

Football London claim Genk striker Leandro Trossard has been considered.

But their interest appears to have cooled and as it stands Nketiah will remain as back-up to Lacazette and Aubameyang.

Emery is expected to be handed a transfer budget of £50m this summer.

Any additional funds will need to be raised by player sales.

Arsenal are also in the market for a goalkeeper, a centre-back, a winger and a midfielder.

As well as improving the squad, the Gunners need replacements for Petr Cech and Aaron Ramsey.
