Arsenal have announced their second capture of the ongoing transfer window with midfielder Dani Ceballos joining them on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.
Earlier this week, there were concerns that the move could be scuppered by the injury to Marco Asensio at Los Blancos but any doubts have been put to bed with the Gunners announcing the deal.
In his first interview, Ceballos, who is a full-time international with Spain, has revealed that Unai Emery was influential in luring him to the north London giants this summer.
“The coach was the turning point in terms of me joining this massive club. He’s a Spanish coach and he knows me from my time at other clubs. I’m really happy to be able to help Arsenal achieve our objectives,” he told Arsenal TV.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are widely reported to have agreed on a deal to sign William Saliba from Saint-Etienne and the same is expected to be announced in the coming hours.
Emery’s side have agreed on a package of around £27m to sign the central defender but they are expected to loan him back to the French club for the 2019/2020 season.
