Arsenal’s French captain, who has been with the club since 2010, has been linked with a move away this summer as he seeks a new challenge near the end of his career.
And according to French publication L’Equipe, Bordeaux want to bring Koscielny back home to replace Jules Kounde, who is expected to complete a £24.4million transfer to Sevilla.
Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny is wanted by Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux this summer
The report claims the two parties have been in talks for months now, with the former France international informing Bordeaux that he is interested in their project.
Koscielny has enjoyed a successful career in north London after joining from Lorient, quickly becoming a mainstay in Arsenal’s defence under former manager Arsene Wenger.
The 33-year-old has featured 353 times for the Gunners, winning three FA Cups, while reaching two League Cup finals and a Europa League final.
He would be a miss for Unai Emery if he were to leave but Arsenal could be tempted to sell him this summer if they can demand a significant transfer fee.
Arsenal have a limited transfer budget of just £45m, so need to raise funds if they want to capture marquee signings, such as Wilfried Zaha.
