Unai Emery has moved to try and beat Manchester United to the signing of Thomas Meunier.
The right-back is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer and United have held talks over a potential £22m deal.
However, Emery knows him well from his time managing PSG and has contacted him personally in an effort to convince him to join the Gunners, according to The Mirror.

Emery’s team had defensive issues throughout the campaign, conceding 51 times in all competitions.
United had similar problems and Meunier is one of a number of players they are looking at.
