Calum Chambers claims serial winner David Luiz is already becoming a leader at Arsenal.
Luiz scored his first goal for the club after an £8m summer move from Chelsea to help his side go third with a win over Bournemouth.
The Brazil star was snubbed in a player vote for a five-man leadership group which saw Granit Xhaka given the captaincy.
But Chambers insists he is already proving his worth on and off the pitch – and claims Arsenal’s best is yet to come.
He said: “David has been brilliant, he has come in and no-one in the club has a bad word to say about him.
“He is one of the nicest guys I have met, he talks to you, gives you advice and makes everyone feel like he is giving you his undivided attention.
“Off the pitch, he is a great guy and on the pitch he brings his qualities and is playing well at the moment.”
Luiz has won 17 major honours in club football, including the Premier League and Champions League, as well as the Confederations Cup with Brazil.
Chambers said: “He brings some added experience, obviously he was won things and I haven’t won as many things as he has so there are things I can learn from him both on and off the pitch, it is always good to have experience like that in the team.”
Arsenal’s unbeaten home start has helped them climb within a point of Manchester City, and Chambers says the Emirates is becoming a fortress.
He said: “We are unbeaten at home so far this season. The main thing we were saying was we want to turn it into a fortress for us.
“We did that against Bournemouth, we kept that run going by grinding out a 1-0 win. As a defender it is always nice to keep a clean sheet.
“It is something we were speaking about before the game, building up momentum, especially in a home game.
“Our away form has been okay as well so we have just got to keep working hard. Is there more to come from this team? Yes. We have got a really strong squad, a lot of quality players.
“We know we have got quality and we can see that, we have just got to keep working hard and believing in ourselves and the results will keep on coming.”
