Arsenal ace Bernd Leno names three stars Premier League rivals must fear

Bernd Leno claims Arsenal will never be out of a game this season because their “unbelievable” new-look forward line can outscore anyone.

The Gunners battled back from two goals down to grab a North London derby point against Tottenham thanks to Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And despite £72m new boy Nicolas Pepe being yet to get off the mark, Leno reckons the signs are so good that the rest of the Premier League should watch out.

The Arsenal keeper said: “We know about our character but also about the quality. The three players up top, with Pepe also there now, we have unbelievable quality.

Arsenal now have a frightening front three that will cause defences problems this season

“They can score the big chances but also score from nothing and so the other teams always know and have to be aware that we have a lot of dangerous players and that gives us big confidence.

“Can we outscore anyone in the league with those players? Yes, I think so.

“You can see the game against Liverpool we had one or two chances to score when it was 0-0 so we can score with our quality in that top three.

“We can score against everybody but I think the key is always the balance with the defence because in the end that is the most important thing.”

Arsenal lost 3-1 at Anfield but did look dangerous at times and are expecting big things from Pepe, who went close a few times against Tottenham.

The Gunners scored 73 goals last season – more than anyone outside of the Premier League’s new big two of Manchester City and Liverpool.

They have only scored six goals in four games so far this time around while letting in six at the other end, but boss Unai Emery is confident they will get the balance right.

He said: “When you have players like Lacazette, Pepe and Aubameyang you need to take the balance in the midfield for creative and after to cover and with our idea of good pressing.

“We did very good work against Tottenham. Sometimes maybe the balance needs to improve. Some mistakes we will continue taking for improving.”
