AC Milan are willing to include Franck Kessie as part of a deal to bring Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira to the San Siro this summer, according to a report in Italy.
Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that AC Milan are eager to sign the Uruguay international this summer and the seven-time European champions haven’t been dissuaded by Arsenal’s stance Torreira isn’t for sale.
The same article states that Milan’s chances of signing the 23-year-old in the 2019 summer transfer window have been bolstered by the fact that the midfielder’s girlfriend Vittoria Repetto would like to leave London for Italy.
According to the same story, AC Milan would have to spend £40m on Torreira to force Arsenal to consider defensive midfielder’s sale little over 12 months after the Gunners spent £26m on the Uruguayan star before the 2018 World Cup.
Metro go on to quote another Italian media outlet Tuttosport, who claim that Kessie could either be included in a potential deal for Torreira or sold elsewhere to raise funds for the move.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a spot in the Champions League for the third successive season despite Unai Emery’s appointment as Arsene Wenger’s replacement last summer.
