Fiorentina have entered into negotiations with midfielder Lucas Biglia – which could be good news for Arsenal.
The Serie A club are reported by Calciomercato to be interested in the 33-year-old, who is about to head into the final year of his contract at AC Milan.
Having missed out on Champions League qualification, Milan are seeking to rebuild this summer – and it looks as though 58-cap Argentina international Biglia could bite the bullet.
The star joined Milan in the summer of 2017 and has made 56 appearances for the club so far.
Calciomercato state he is Fiorentina’s number one target this summer, with Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella keen to link up with his former player.
The development is interesting for Arsenal, who have recently been credited with an interest in Jordan Veretout (L’Equipe).
Biglia and Veretout are fairly similar players, and Fiorentina’s interest would perhaps suggest that the former could be a replacement for the €7 million/£6.2 million Frenchman (L’Equipe).
Should a move come to fruition, then it could make life easier for Arsenal with regards to a potential deal for Veretout.
With Lucas Torreira the subject of interest from Milan, the club may wish to reignite their interest in former Aston Villa player Veretout, so Biglia potentially joining would be an ideal scenario.
The Gunners may have to move quickly though as the 26-year-old is reportedly interesting Milan, Roma and Napoli (Gazzetta dello Sport).
