The FA said: ‘Arsenal Women FC has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E4.

‘It is alleged that, when dismissing a former employee in 2014, the club carried out an act of discrimination by reason of disability which was not otherwise permitted both by law and the rules and regulations of The FA.’

The Women’s Super League champions have until Tuesday, August 20 to respond to the charge.

Arsenal won the WSL title last season for the first time since 2012 after winning 18 and losing two of their 20 matches.
