Arsenal completed a superb comeback to beat Aston Villa on Sunday.
Down to 10 men, the Gunners trailed the hosts 2-1 going into the final 10 minutes.
Callum Chambers prodded home to claw one back for the visitors in the 81st minute.
And once again, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came to Arsenal’s rescue, finding the back of the net with a superb free-kick in the dying embers of the game.
It was Nicolas Pepe who got Arsenal’s first though, opening his account in a Gunners shirt with a penalty.
And after the game, it emerged that Aubameyang, who took the armband from Granit Xhaka when he was taken off, made the decision to let the Ivorian have he chance to score from 12 yards.
That news went down a treat with the Emirates faithful, who have since begun demanding that he be made captain ahead of Granit Xhaka.
“Needs to be captain,” one wrote.
And another replied: “And Guendouzi co-captain. Those two never give up, respect the badge.”
“Auba to stay captain?” a third asked.
While another put forward: “That’s because Aubameyang is the one leading this team, not Emery.
“Do we need to look any further for a captain?” a fifth questioned.
Xhaka was booed as he was taken off in the 72nd minute for Joe Willock.
And Gunners fans had a theory about him after they went on to win.
