Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka was brutally mocked by fans as his attempted free-kick for Switzerland went badly wrong.
The midfielder was part of the Swiss side that lost 1-0 to Denmark on Saturday.
Yusuf Poulsen’s late strike proved to be the difference.
It also meant Xhaka’s woes continued on the international stage as well as at club level.
The 27-year-old, who was named captain of the club this season, has been slammed by fans for his errors .
And footage has emerged of one epic gaffe in Copenhagen.
In the clip, Switzerland have won a free-kick on the right wing early in the second half.
Xhaka stands over the ball with Stephan Lichtsteiner, who spent last season with the Gunners.
The now Augsburg full-back stands ready to take the set piece.
But the Gunners midfielder runs towards it – and he eludes everyone by stepping over the ball.
The Swiss captain then strides towards the ball.
But he also decides not to touch it, allowing his former Arsenal team-mate to run round again.
When Xhaka gets round to crossing, though, the men in the penalty box have lost their momentum.
The Gunners captain crosses the ball but it falls straight to the home defence.
This footage was shared on Twitter yesterday, where it has been viewed thousands of times.
And the Gunners faithful laid into their captain for his set piece disaster.
“What the f*** have I witnessed,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “Even their teammates had no idea what the f*** they were doing.”
While a third suggested where the idea had come from.
“This is what happens when you play under [Unai] Emery,” they said.
And a fourth added: “Even the ball looks confused.”
With a fifth simply added: “Tragically funny.”
