Arsenal appointing Pochettino would rub salt on Tottenham’s wound and they must do this

According to The Sun, Mauricio Pochettino has put Arsenal on alert as he wants to make an immediate return to management.

Pochettino was sacked from Tottenham’s hot seat last month after a poor run of results which saw they languishing in the bottom half of the table. Since then, the Argentine has been linked with various clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Arsenal, according to The Sun.

He was at Tottenham for five and a half years and had transformed them into one of the most fearful teams across Europe, and reaching the Champions League was a proof of it.

After being runners-up in Europe last term, Tottenham have failed to emulate their performance of last season and looked to be in a bad state until Jose Mourinho lifted them into the top-six lately.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also enduring a bad spell and as a result, Unai Emery was sacked prior to their league match against Norwich City. Freddie Ljungberg has been appointed as the interim head coach.

The Gunners are in search of a long-term manager who can bring them out of their poor run, their worst since 1992.

With Pochettino available, Arsenal are considering making him move across North London to lead them. This decision might be good by the Gunners considering that Tottenham Hotspur are their biggest rivals.

They have a
history of rivalry with the Lilywhites and if Pochettino accepts their offer,
it would put fans across North London in a tizzy.

The 47-year-old is known for his tactics and man-management, and he could succeed at Arsenal with the bunch of young players they have got. Just like how Dele Alli was groomed under his influence, Pochettino can develop several youngsters at Arsenal and make them world-beaters.

This would add to Tottenham’s misery as they would be least expecting the Argentine to lead their rivals. If Pochettino takes charge at the Emirates, it would be just a matter of time before he brings fire into the squad and the Gunners would absolutely do well under new management.

With loads of experience and several North London derbies, Pochettino can easily identify Tottenham’s weakness in time and could change Arsenal’s game according to his needs.

Arsenal already have an upper edge against their rivals in head-to-head matches and this would rise should the Argentine be at Arsenal’s dugout.

All these points should be taken into consideration by the Gunners board before they appoint anyone else as their head to revive their situation.

Pochettino has already established himself as one of the best managers in the league and he can adapt well to the situation at Arsenal. Thus, Arsenal appointing Pochettino would not just be a huge loss, but it would also add to Tottenham’s misery.
